Shopify dropshipping: plan prices, payments in Lithuania and first-month costs

On this page · 9
Shopify is the shop platform most often chosen for dropshipping: it does not need to be installed, and almost all supplier platforms have a connector for it. The price of that convenience is a monthly fee and fees on every sale, which beginners often see only on their first invoice.
This part of the guide covers Shopify’s plan prices according to the official price list, how to accept payments in Lithuania, which apps you need to pass orders to the supplier and how much the first month really costs.
In short
- The cheapest full plan in the price list, Basic, is 39 USD per month with monthly billing or 29 USD per month with annual billing.
- Shopify Payments works in Lithuania – Lithuania is on the list of supported countries.
- When another payment provider is used, Shopify charges an additional 2% of the sale on the Basic plan.
- The shop is the smallest part of the costs. The largest is advertising.
Plan prices
| Plan | Monthly billing | Annual billing | Fee when using another payment provider |
|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | 39 USD per month | 29 USD per month | 2% |
| Grow | 105 USD per month | 79 USD per month | 1% |
| Advanced | 399 USD per month | 299 USD per month | 0.6% |
The prices are from Shopify’s price list, checked in October 2026; it also advertises an offer for new users: 3 days free, then 1 USD per month for the first 3 months. The price list is displayed according to the visitor’s country, so in Lithuania the amounts may be shown in euros and differ slightly – you will see the exact price when registering.
Basic is enough to begin with. The more expensive plans reduce the fees on sales, so they pay off only once there is turnover.
Accepting payments in Lithuania
Shopify Payments is the platform’s own payment system. In Shopify’s help centre, Lithuania is on the list of supported countries: you can accept card payments, payments through accelerated checkout methods and local payment methods. When registering you may have to verify your personal and business details.
- Card fees depend on the plan and the country – the exact rates for Lithuania are shown in your account.
- If you use another provider (for example, Stripe or PayPal), you pay both that provider and an additional Shopify fee on the sale: 2% on the Basic plan, 1% on Grow, 0.6% on Advanced.
- For comparison: Stripe’s price list for Lithuania states 1.5% + 0.25 € for standard European Economic Area cards and 3.15% + 0.25 € for international ones.
Buyers in Lithuania often pay through bank links. Check whether your chosen provider supports them and how much it costs before launching the shop – it directly affects how many baskets get paid for.
Apps for passing on orders
Shopify itself does not order products from suppliers. For that you need an app that imports products and passes on orders:
| App | For what | Price |
|---|---|---|
| DSers | Orders on AliExpress | Free Basic plan (3 shops, 3 000 products); Advanced 19.90 USD, Pro 49.90 USD per month |
| CJ Dropshipping | Its own catalogue and warehouses | No monthly fee |
| Zendrop, Spocket, Syncee | Supplier catalogues | From 0 to 39.99 USD and more per month, depending on the plan |
The number of apps tends to grow: reviews, emails, a currency switcher, a cookie banner. Each one’s monthly fee looks small on its own, but together they can exceed the price of the plan itself. Before installing, ask whether the shop really will not work without this feature.
How much the first month costs
Below is a sample estimate, not a price list. The shop lines are taken from official prices; the advertising line is hypothetical, because it depends solely on your decision.
| Line | Amount | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Shopify Basic | 39 USD | Or less, if the offer for new users applies |
| Domain | Annual fee | Depends on the registrar and the domain ending |
| Order app | 0 | Free plan to begin with |
| Test orders for yourself | The price of the products | At least one of each product you sell |
| Advertising | The budget you set | The biggest and least predictable line |
Without advertising, nobody visits a new shop. So the question of how much Shopify costs really means: how much can I spend on advertising before I find out whether the product sells. Set this amount in advance and do not exceed it.
From registration to the first order
- Choose a product and a supplier before you even build the shop. A shop without a verified product is just a monthly fee.
- Order the product for yourself. Photograph it yourself – your own photos set you apart from dozens of shops with the same supplier images.
- Build the shop with one theme and a few products. A hundred products on day one does not help; it gets in the way.
- Write down the terms: who the seller is, where the product ships from and how long it takes, how to return a product, how to get in touch.
- Connect payments and make a test purchase yourself – from the basket to the confirmation email.
- Connect the supplier’s app and check that the order really does reach the supplier.
- Only then run advertising – with a small budget and a limit set in advance.
When Shopify is not the best choice
- When you sell only in Lithuania. Local platforms often come with Lithuanian payments and parcel lockers straight away.
- When you will sell rarely. The monthly fee is charged regardless of whether there were any sales. For a few products a month, a classified ad portal or a social network is enough.
- When you do not yet know what you will sell. A test can be run without a shop.
What Shopify will not do for you
- Legal pages. The seller’s details and the delivery, returns and privacy terms are your duty. The templates are not written for Lithuanian law.
- Taxes. VAT settings can be configured on the platform, but the platform does not check whether they are correct in your case.
- A Lithuanian checkout. You have to sort out translations and local payment methods yourself.
- Buyers. The platform is a tool, not traffic.
Which form of activity suits trading is explained in the ACS.lt article “Self-employment: registration certificate or business certificate”.
