Skelbiu.lt calls itself Lithuania's most visited classifieds portal, and search data does not contradict that: its name is searched for on Google more than a million times a month, and the queries “parduodu” (for sale) and “nemokami skelbimai” (free classifieds) – more than a thousand times each on top of that. A classifieds portal suits what Vinted does not: furniture, household appliances, tools, bicycles, building materials – everything the buyer wants to inspect and take away in person.

This article covers how to post a listing on Skelbiu.lt, what is free for a private individual and what is paid, how buying with delivery to a parcel locker works and how to write a listing that gets replies from buyers, not just from scammers. Prices and time limits are taken from the portal's help pages.

In short

  • For private individuals selling their own belongings, listings in most Skelbiu.lt categories are free. Listings for vehicles and their parts, real estate and services remain paid.
  • A listing is usually valid for 60 days, clothes and footwear – 90, collecting and giveaways – 30.
  • Promotion with one star costs 1,99 € per day.
  • With the “Pirkti dabar” (Buy now) feature the buyer pays through the portal and collects the item from a parcel locker, and you get the money when they confirm that everything is fine.

How to post a listing

  1. Register. A listing can also be posted without registering – the login details are then sent by email or SMS. But a registered user sees all their listings in the “Mano skelbimai” (My listings) section, can edit and remove them and use “Pirkti dabar”.
  2. Choose the exact category. Buyers browse by categories and filters. They simply will not see a listing posted in the wrong place.
  3. Write the title. Item, manufacturer, model, the most important feature.
  4. Upload photos. Your own, not from the internet.
  5. State the price and the town.
  6. Describe the item and tick whether to show the listing on your personal page, where the buyer sees all your listings.

The contact details of some listings show the label “Tapatybė patvirtinta” (Identity confirmed). It appears automatically when you pay for the portal's services by bank transfer; if you have not bought anything, it is enough to top up your portal account by a transfer of at least 0,1 €. For the buyer this label means that there is a real person with a bank account behind the listing.

Note: in the real estate and vehicle parts categories listings are sorted by the date of posting, not the date of renewal, so renewing a listing will not change its place in the list.

“Pirkti dabar”: selling with delivery

This is a portal feature that works much like Vinted: the buyer pays through the portal, and the money is held until they receive the parcel.

  1. You confirm your identity, activate “Mano piniginė” (My wallet) and switch the feature on for the listings you choose.
  2. You state the parcel size and the parcel lockers you can send through: LP EXPRESS, Omniva or DPD.
  3. Once the buyer has paid, you receive the parcel number and send the item within 3 working days.
  4. Once the buyer confirms that everything is fine, the money is transferred to “Mano piniginė”.

Shipping costs are always paid by the buyer. On top of the item price they are charged a platform fee that depends on the price and covers secure payment and the option of getting the money back if the item substantially does not match the description. If a dispute arises, the parties are first invited to reach an agreement between themselves, and if that fails the portal's customer service department steps in. The feature does not work in all categories – mostly for small items that can be shipped: clothes, phones, computer accessories, games, children's goods, tools.

How to write a listing that sells

PartWeak listingStrong listing
Title“Selling a fridge”“Fridge” + manufacturer and model + “186 cm, 2021, works flawlessly”
PhotosOne, dark, from a distanceThe whole item, the inside, the label with the model, defects in close-up
Price“Negotiable”A specific amount and a sentence on whether the price is open to negotiation
Description“Good condition, call me”Age, dimensions, what does not work, why you are selling, whether there is a receipt, which floor it is on and whether you will help carry it out
  • Answer the questions in advance. Every unanswered question is a phone call or a lost buyer.
  • Write about the flaws. A buyer who arrives and finds a scratch that was not mentioned will haggle twice as hard or drive away.
  • Set the price by fresh listings. An identical item that has been up for a month shows a price nobody pays.
  • One item – one listing. A listing saying “selling various items” is found only by someone who is not looking for anything in particular.

What the portal does not allow

The community rules prohibit content that breaks the law or infringes the rights of others: counterfeit goods, unlawfully obtained items, illegal software, misleading information about the condition, origin or quantity of an item, fictitious listings, fraudulent lotteries and investment schemes, links to websites unrelated to the listing. In case of a violation the portal may change or remove the listing, issue a warning, restrict access, delete the account and pass information on to the authorities.

Safety: who calls and writes

Real cases from police reports

  • Panevėžys, October 2026. A woman transferred a 550 € advance payment for a small house on wheels she found in a listing. She could no longer reach the seller.
  • Vilnius district, October 2026. A man transferred 199 900 € to the crypto wallets of a supposed seller for two cars being bought in Slovakia and did not receive the cars.
  • Tauragė. A young man born in 2007 transferred 230 € for a gaming computer and did not receive the item.

Cases like these make buyers cautious – and that is a good thing. The danger for the seller is different:

  • The “buyer” writes within minutes, does not haggle and offers to “pay via the courier” – sends a link that asks for card or bank details.
  • Asks to move to another messaging app.
  • Asks you to forward an SMS code you have just received.

An account number is enough to receive money. If you have already entered your details, call your bank immediately, then report it to the police via epolicija.lt or by phone on 112.

Other classifieds portals

The same listing can be posted in several places – on Facebook Marketplace, on other general classifieds portals, and for cars and housing – on specialised portals, which is where buyers look for them. Prices and validity periods differ on each, so check the terms in the portal's own rules. Once you have sold the item, remove all the listings the same day.
